Overview
A compact ceramic kiln designed for home use, the Jen-Ken AF3C 1822 delivers reliable performance in a small footprint.
Power and installation
Operates on a 30 amp dryer circuit for efficient, home-friendly setup.
Controller options
The AF3C 3-button controller comes standard, with upgrades available to the Orton Autofire 12-key or TAP touchscreen controllers to suit your firing needs.
Orton Autofire 12-key option
When paired with the Orton Autofire 12-key controller, you can add multiple thermocouples for zone control, enabling finer temperature management across different kiln zones. This capability is not offered with the other controllers.
Solid State Relay benefits
A Solid State Relay drives the kiln elements with fast, precise switching, delivering tighter temperature control, longer element life, and lower energy usage. Unlike mechanical relays with moving parts, SSRs are designed for long-term reliability and minimal maintenance, reducing future replacement concerns and downtime.
Controller selection and partners
Jen-Ken collaborates with leading controller manufacturers such as SDS Industries and Orton to provide high-performance, accurate firings. With a range of controller options, you can pick the setup that best fits your workflow and budget.
TAP Touchscreen Controller by SDS Industries
The TAP Smart Controller is the top-tier choice. It’s easy to use, high-performance, and feature-rich. It offers expansive memory for firing programs and virtually unlimited storage for profiles and steps. You can create numerous firing profiles, with many steps, without being limited by the controller. When ordered with the Wi-Fi Dongle, you can control everything from any device. You can work from a computer, tablet, or phone, and updates from SDS Industries can be applied automatically to keep software current for years to come. Easily adjust in-progress firings, skip steps, and view all graphical information on your firing with just a "TAP"!
