Jen-Ken AFG ProFusion 38 Glass Kiln

Introducing the ProFusion 38 from Jen‑Ken—built to handle larger glass projects with a spacious interior and precise heat control for reliable fusing and workups.

Internal dimensions and capacity

Interior size: 26" wide by 36" long by 14" deep, giving ample room for larger pieces and multi‑piece setups in a single firing.

Design and heating system

The top chamber uses solid, rigid fiber construction with elements encased in quartz tubes. The tubes hang just below the lid to deliver maximum radiant heat where it’s most needed, promoting even heating across your work.

Stand, shelves, and accessories

  • Integrated stand with casters for easy mobility.
  • Included fiber shelf: 25" x 37" (1" thick), made from the same rigid fiber material as the kiln, eliminating seams for smoother fusing.
  • Additional clay shelf: 15" x 21" rectangle to support glass backing and controlled heat transfer.
  • Eight short kiln posts and a bag of kiln wash.

Loading height and ergonomics

The stand places the kiln floor at about 34" high, making loading and unloading comfortable without bending over. You can assemble the system right at the kiln for a streamlined workflow.

Lid and floor construction

The lid features a clamshell design with spring-assisted operation for exceptionally light handling despite the kiln’s size. The kiln floor uses individual bricks that are not cemented together, allowing quick brick replacement in case of damage.

Control system and placement

The controller is separate from the kiln, enabling easy placement at eye level by side mounting, tilting, or wall mounting—eliminating the need to bend down to program firings.

Shelf technology and firing efficiency

The ProFusion 38 comes with a 25" x 37" fiber shelf, crafted from the same rigid fiber material as the kiln. When laid flat on the floor, this shelf creates an all‑fiber interior with seamless support for even heating and faster heat ascent. Fiber shelves support rapid, consistent fusing by minimizing brick contact resistance, helping you achieve quicker turnarounds compared with brick-based interiors.

Two‑firing capability and studio workflow

Designed for high‑volume studios and teaching spaces, the ProFusion 38 accommodates multiple firings in a day, with the potential to reach room temperature by the next morning in teaching environments.

Electrical reliability: Solid State Relay

Equipped with a Solid State Relay, the kiln delivers precise power cycling for tight temperature control, longer element life, and reduced energy usage. Unlike traditional mechanical relays, solid‑state relays have no moving parts to wear out, contributing to durability and long‑term savings.

Controller options and compatibility

Jen‑Ken maintains strong relationships with digital controller manufacturers, offering compatibility and selection from top brands such as SDS Industries and Orton to provide robust, industry‑leading performance.
